Privacy Policy
6Novel · Last updated: October 21, 2026
6Novel is a web novel reading app for Android and iOS made by Sath Labs ("Sath Labs", "we", "us"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the 6Novel app and the services behind it, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you have. It covers the app, our servers, and this website (sathlabs.com). Our Terms of Service apply alongside it.
1. Who we are
Sath Labs is the controller of the personal information described here. You can reach us at support@sathlabs.com. Some tools inside the app, such as ad delivery, analytics and the app stores, are run by other companies that decide for themselves how to handle the data they receive; they are listed in section 7.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you give us
- Sign-in details (optional). If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive and store the email address (or Apple's private relay address) and the account identifier those providers give us, so we can recognize you on your next visit and on other devices. We never receive your Google or Apple password.
- Display name. The name you choose to show next to your comments. It is visible to other readers.
- Comments, replies, likes and ratings. What you write and which novels or comments you like or rate. Comments are public to other users of the app.
- Reports. When you report a novel or a comment we store the reason you pick and, for novels, any note you add (up to 500 characters), together with your account and the chapter concerned.
- Library and blocked users. The novels you save to your library and the people you block.
- Messages to us. Emails you send to support, and what you include in them.
2.2 Information created when you use the app
- Install and account identifiers. A random install ID generated on your device, an internal account ID, and session tokens (with a label for the device) that keep you signed in. An anonymous account contains no name or email.
- Reading activity. Your reading progress (novel, chapter, position), the chapters you have read, and reading sessions and time spent, including the platform (Android or iOS) and the region set on your device (not your location). We use this to sync your progress, to calculate rewards, rankings and recommendations, and to keep the economy fair.
- Wallet and rewards. Your coin and bonus coin balances and transactions, chapters you have unlocked (with coins, by watching an ad, or with Premium), daily check-ins, quests, achievements and streaks.
- Purchases and Premium. When you buy coins or a subscription through Google Play or the App Store, we receive a confirmation from the store: the store, product, transaction identifiers, price, currency, country, purchase and renewal dates, and subscription status. We never see your card or other payment details.
- Search. The words you search for are logged without your account, in aggregate form, to power the trending searches.
- Notifications. If you allow notifications, a push token for your device (from Firebase Cloud Messaging), the device platform and your app language. We also record whether you agreed to marketing notifications and when.
- Settings on your device. Language, theme, reader preferences and your consent choices are stored on your device.
2.3 Information collected automatically by services in the app
- Analytics (Firebase Analytics via our SDK). Product events such as which screen was opened, reading heartbeats, chapter completion, unlocks, searches (only the length of the query, never the words), purchases (success or failure), notification opens, ad events and the speed and status of our API calls. Events use internal IDs; they do not include novel titles or text you typed. Collection is off until the consent flow allows it.
- Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics). Crash traces with the device model, operating system and app version. Also off until the consent flow allows it.
- Advertising (Google AdMob via our SDK). When ads are shown, Google and its partners may receive your advertising ID (Android advertising ID or iOS IDFA), IP address, device and app information, and ad interaction data. Which of this is used depends on your consent (section 5).
- Server logs. Our servers record the IP address, time, requested address, response status and app version (our app identifies itself as "6Novel/<version>") to secure the service, block abuse and fix problems.
3. What we do not collect
- We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone or files. The Android app asks for internet access, network state, and (on Android 13 and later) permission to show notifications.
- We do not receive passwords or payment card numbers.
- We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use the content of your comments for advertising.
4. How we use information
| Purpose | What we use | Legal basis (where GDPR or similar laws apply) |
|---|---|---|
| Provide the app: accounts, sign-in, library, reading progress, sync across devices | Identifiers, sign-in details, library, reading activity | Performing our contract with you |
| Comments, ratings, reports and moderation | Display name, comments, likes, reports | Performing our contract; our legitimate interest in keeping the community safe |
| Coins, rewards, unlocks and Premium | Wallet, unlocks, check-ins, quests, purchase records | Performing our contract; legal obligations |
| Prevent fraud, abuse and exploits, secure the service | Identifiers, server logs, wallet and reading activity | Our legitimate interest in security and fair use |
| Show ads that fund free chapters | Ad data processed by Google AdMob | Your consent where required; otherwise our legitimate interest in funding the service |
| Understand and improve the app, measure performance, fix crashes | Analytics events, crash reports, API telemetry | Your consent where required; otherwise our legitimate interest |
| Service notifications (for example replies to your comments) | Push token, platform, language | Performing our contract |
| Marketing notifications | Push token, marketing consent | Your consent, which you can withdraw at any time |
| Comply with law and answer legal requests; handle support | Any of the above as needed | Legal obligations; our legitimate interest |
5. Consent and your choices
- Ads and analytics consent. Where the law requires it (for example in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom), the app shows a consent form from Google's User Messaging Platform before ads are requested. Until you decide, Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics send nothing. If you decline, ads that are not personalized may still be shown.
- Changing your choice. Where the law requires the app to offer it, the Profile screen shows an Ad privacy entry in the Support section. Tapping it reopens the consent form so you can review or change your answer at any time. The entry is not shown where no consent form is required.
- iOS tracking. On iOS the app may ask permission under Apple's App Tracking Transparency before using the advertising identifier. You can change it in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Android advertising ID. You can reset or delete it, and opt out of ads personalization, in Settings → Privacy → Ads.
- Notifications. You can turn notifications off in the app's system settings at any time. Marketing notifications are sent only if you agreed.
- Anonymous use. You can use 6Novel without signing in. Signing in only adds the ability to keep your data when you change phones and to post comments.
6. Who we share information with
- Other users. Your display name and your comments, replies and likes on comments are visible to other readers. Nothing else about your account is shown to them.
- Service providers. Companies that run parts of the service for us under their own terms, listed in section 7: infrastructure hosting, Google (Firebase, AdMob, Sign-In, Play), Apple, and the in-app purchase provider RevenueCat.
- Legal and safety. When we believe disclosure is required by law or needed to protect people, our rights or the service.
- Business changes. If Sath Labs is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of it, and we would tell you if its handling materially changed.
We do not sell personal information. Where ads are personalized, Google and its partners process advertising data under their own policies; if privacy laws such as the California CCPA/CPRA treat that as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising, you can opt out by declining consent, by turning off ad personalization on your device, or by contacting us.
7. Third-party services in the app
| Service | What it does here | Their privacy information |
|---|---|---|
| Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Cloud Messaging) | Usage analytics, crash reports, push notifications | firebase.google.com/support/privacy |
| Google AdMob and User Messaging Platform | Ads and the consent form | support.google.com/admob/answer/6128543 |
| Google Sign-In and Google Play | Optional sign-in, Android purchases and updates | policies.google.com/privacy |
| Sign in with Apple and the App Store | Optional sign-in, iOS purchases and updates | apple.com/legal/privacy |
| RevenueCat | Processes in-app purchases and subscriptions and reports them to our servers | revenuecat.com/privacy |
| Hosting provider | Runs our servers and database | Under contract with us |
The app also contains the Sath Labs SDK, our own library that connects the ads, analytics and purchase services above to the app.
8. International transfers
Our servers and the companies in section 7 may process information in countries other than the one where you live, including countries whose data protection laws differ from yours. Where required, we rely on safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.
9. How long we keep information
- Account data (identifiers, library, progress, wallet, rewards, comments, purchase records) is kept while your account exists, and is deleted when you delete the account (section 10).
- Search terms are kept without any link to your account.
- Server logs are kept only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting.
- Analytics and crash data are kept in Google Firebase for the retention period configured in our Firebase project, then removed by Google.
- Backups. We keep a rolling set of recent automatic database backups (the latest 30). Information you delete can remain in a backup until it is replaced by a newer one; we do not restore deleted accounts from backups.
- Store records. Apple and Google keep their own purchase and billing records under their own policies.
10. Deleting your account
Open the app, go to Profile → Delete account, and confirm. This permanently deletes your account, sign-in details, library, reading progress, ratings, likes, reports, wallet and any coins you have left, push tokens and purchase records on our servers. It cannot be undone. A clean-up pass runs about twenty minutes later to remove anything written by a device that had not yet noticed the deletion.
- Comments. Your comments are not left under your name: they are replaced by a "deleted" placeholder so that other people's replies still make sense, and the text is removed.
- Subscriptions. Deleting your account does not cancel a Premium subscription. Cancel it first in Google Play or the App Store, or you will keep being charged.
- Staff accounts. Accounts that hold an editor or author role cannot be deleted in the app; contact us.
If you cannot use the app, email support@sathlabs.com from the address linked to your account and we will delete it for you. The same instructions are on sathlabs.com/6novel/delete-account.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, receive a copy in a portable format, object to or restrict some processing, and withdraw consent you gave. You also have the right not to be treated unfairly for using these rights. To use them, use the in-app tools above or email support@sathlabs.com. We may ask you to confirm you control the account first, and we will answer within one month (or sooner where the law says so).
- EEA, UK and Switzerland. You can complain to your local data protection authority.
- California. You can ask what we collect and disclose, ask us to delete it or correct it, and opt out of sale or sharing; we do not sell personal information.
- Vietnam and other countries. You have the rights that your local personal data protection law gives you, and we will honor them.
12. Children
6Novel is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Where local law sets a higher age for consent to data processing (for example 16 in parts of the EEA), you must be at least that old, or have a parent or guardian's permission. Some stories include mature themes and carry age ratings in the app. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we will delete it.
13. Security
Traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit. Access to our systems is limited to people who need it, and account actions use short-lived session tokens. No online service is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security; if a breach affects you we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.
14. This website
sathlabs.com is a static information site. It does not use cookies, advertising or analytics scripts. Our web server records standard access logs (IP address, time, address requested, browser) for security.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app or the law changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app or by another suitable way before it takes effect.
